You are warmly invited to take part, on Saturday 8 November, in a Come-and-sing performance of one of the most well-known and best-loved works in the repertoire: Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem. It promises to be an enjoyable and fulfilling afternoon’s singing, and where better to sing this wonderful work than in the beautiful setting of Saint Bartholomew’s? There will be plenty of time in the afternoon to fine-tune our singing under the direction of Peter Parshall, assistant director of music, before the liturgical performance at 5.00pm (in which the music will be interspersed with suitably themed poetry and prayers). All are warmly welcome to this event, whether or not they have sung the work before. Please bring your own copy if possible. The event costs €12 per singer (€10 for those affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music, which includes members of the Elgin Chorale and other singers from this church…); you are asked to book beforehand by contacting Peter on 01 671 2426 or at pparshall@rscm.com.
