‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.’ John 6:35
The Harvest festival in Saint Bartholomew’s Church will take place on Sunday 5 October at 11am. In previous years we have struggled to find somewhere to distribute food and goods, which has unfortunately led to considerable food waste. However, we have finally found a solution! The Church of Ireland parish in Dun Laoghaire runs a voluntary homeless food centre, currently feeding between 35 and 50 people each day called ‘The Dining Room’. It is an inter-church venture with the full support of all the local churches, local business and the Gardaí. Our church will be open on the morning of Saturday 4 October from 11am-12noon to receive food and goods for the decoration of the church.
Anyone can come along with fresh goods, vegetables or canned goods to help to decorate the church. After the Sunday services, the goods will collected up to be delivered to The Dining Room.
