While works have been ongoing around the chancel we haven’t had any of our beautiful bells ringing before the Sunday services. Work on the tower will be taking place later in 2016, but we would hope that we can resume our bell ringers guild for the intervening period. Bell ringers ring on a Sunday morning on the carillon system (a set of levers a little like a keyboard). Each hymn tune is worked out on a system of numbers so it is actually very easy to do.
We are currently looking for new bell ringers to join the guild and hope shortly to have a day when you can access the tower and try your hand at playing some tunes. Children are welcome to join the bell ringers guild but must be accompanied by their parent/guardian.
