The World Day of Prayer service is held annually on the first Friday in March. It is a worldwide ecumenical movement that brings together Christians of many traditions to observe a common day of prayer. It is also the largest ecumenical movement in the world organised by women. The churches in the Ballsbridge/Donnybrook branch take it in turns to host the event, and this year the service will be held at Saint Bartholomew’s.
Each year, a different country arranges the worship based upon a particular theme. For 2023, the service has been prepared by the Christian women of Taiwan, who chose as their theme I Have Heard About Your Faith, a passage from Ephesians 1: 15-19. All parishioners and friends (and not just women!) are warmly invited to attend. Please do come along and show your support for this important event in the parish. Following the service there will be refreshments in the side chapel, to which everyone is very welcome.
